Restore Your Natural Beauty

The areas around the eyes are among the first to exhibit signs of aging. Many men and women may feelthat droopy eyelids or bags underneath the eyes may make them look older than they feel. Blepharoplasty, or eyelid surgery, is a popular surgical procedure performed to reduce the signs of aging and restore a smooth, refreshed appearance. Dr. Ben Light performs both upper and lower eyelid surgery at his Decatur, Alabama facial plastic surgery practice.

UPPER BLEPHAROPLASTY

Upper eyelid surgery reduces excess, drooping skin from the upper eyelids. From incisions made in each upper eyelid, Dr. Light will reduce excess skin and lift the remaining skin to take years off of the patient’s appearance.

An upper eyelid lift is one of the most popular plastic surgeries performed in the United States. It can be combined with a brow lift for a comprehensive effect. It is an excellent aesthetic surgery and serves as a functional enhancement to remove loose, sagging skin that inhibits the patient’s vision. In addition, an upper blepharoplasty eliminates excess fat pads to create a centrally positioned eyelid with no skin draping or hooding.

This technique improves the overall facial aesthetic through modifications to the upper eyelid. Dr. Light performs incisions to remove excess fat and hanging skin improving eyelid volume and skin laxity. A more youthful, rejuvenated eye appearance is an immediate benefit as well as any functional concerns that need to be addressed.

LOWER BLEPHAROPLASTY
Lower eyelid surgery is performed to correct the appearance of puffiness and bags underneath the eyes. Incisions are made in the natural creases beneath the eyes, from which excess skin and fatty tissue are reduced. In addition, fat may be redistributed to add volume and firmness to areas that appeared to be sunken in.

EYELID SURGERY BENEFITS

Blepharoplasty – Droopy Eyelid Surgery is a popular, straightforward procedure with substantial cosmetic benefits. Eyelid surgery patients report having more self-confidence and enjoying a smoother, younger-looking appearance. Those who previously looked tired, angry, or sad can now enjoy appearing more alert, relaxed, and refreshed. In addition, because the drooping skin is reduced that obscured the field of vision, eyelid surgery can make it easier for patients to see.
