Introducing Votiva for women: a revolutionary and non-surgical solution for urinary stress incontinence, vaginal laxity, dryness and painful intercourse
Bearing children, hormonal changes and gravity can take a toll on a woman’s most private areas. Until recently, women tolerated symptoms because options for improvement were invasive, inconvenient, and sometimes risky. Now there is a simple and effective solution.
Light Facial Plastic Surgery presents Votiva: a procedure to pamper and rejuvenate from the bottom up and the inside out. Here are answers to some frequently asked questions:
What is Vaginal Rejuvenation with Votiva?
What is a Votiva treatment like?
Votiva is an in-office vaginal rejuvenation treatment that uses radio frequency to gently heat vaginal and vulvar tissue. This results in improved blood flow to the area, which causes a cascade of positive effects including increased moisture, tightness and a stronger pelvic floor. This increases bladder control. Votiva treatments can be customized to address the issues patients are most concerned about.
Does Votiva work right away, or gradually?
To enjoy maximum results, a set of three treatments spaced a few weeks apart is recommended. The initial consult and treatments are performed by Irica Edwards, RN. Her previous experience in labor and delivery combined with an easygoing and pleasant personality put patients at ease.
Once patients are comfortably reclined, a slender wand is inserted internally, a process which takes about 10 minutes. Another small hand piece is used for the outer areas for a similar amount of time. In some cases and when additional labial tightening is desired, a combination of microneedling and radio frequency can be added to great effect.
No anesthetic is necessary beyond the occasional use of a local numbing cream as the treatment is not painful! Patients may feel heat similar to a warm compress during the treatment and are free to resume normal activity immediately afterwards.
The answer is BOTH!
Blood flow to the area increases beginning with the first treatment, which often improves the color of the vulvar tissue and firmness of the labia. Many patients report enhanced internal tightness and increased moisture after the first treatment. Some report better bladder control soon after the initial treatment as well.
But vaginal rejuvenation is also a long-term process involving collagen remodeling and further pelvic floor tightening which continues for weeks after the final treatment! Those final results last for about 12 months and can be maintained over a span of years with just a single, once-a-year treatment.
Who is a candidate for Votiva?
Remember when jumping on a trampoline was fun?
Any woman who has difficulty with bladder leakage while exercising or even as a result of a cough or sneeze would benefit from Votiva treatments.
Women who have borne children are excellent candidates for Votiva. In fact, happy clients talking to friends commonly refer to their Votiva treatments as getting a “Mommy Makeover”.
Improved comfort and sensitivity combined with a return to the tightness of younger anatomy are appealing results for most women… and their partners, too!
What woman are saying about Votiva.
“At 53 years old and after two 8+ lb kids, time became my harsh reality. The procedure
far exceeded my expectations! The procedure was painless, fast and results were immediate. Fast forward a month later, and I’ve just finished my third and final treatment. I have noticed about a 50-60% increase in tightness in my vagina. I know, crazy right? My vagina was much tighter than before and the sensation was much greater. It was then that I knew that I had discovered something really special. I had to tell the world about it, especially my fellow moms. I mean, there are only so many kegals you can do! AND I must add, Dr. Light’s team, Shawna and Irica completely put my fears at ease and made the whole procedure a comfortable experience!” -KRH
“Since becoming a mom I had struggled with urinary incontinence. I could not cough, sneeze, jump, or even laugh without having to deal with changing clothes due to not being able to control my urination. Votiva was mentioned as a possible answer to my embarrassing problem. After going through with Votiva, I can now enjoy jumping on the trampoline with my son, along with other activities with my family, without having to worry about urinating on myself. I can honestly say Votiva has positively changed my life.” – JJ
